What to Expect
First Contact
Dr. Zarkar will respond to your initial contact as soon as possible. At that time you will have the opportunity to speak with Dr. Zarkar and arrange your first appointment. Following this call, she will send you a confirmation email of the appointment time and place, along with directions and a file of administrative and clinical paperwork for you to complete before your first appointment.
First Appointment
Initial evaluations take place for two 60 minute sessions or one 90 minute session depending on the presentation. During these visits, a detailed and thorough history will be taken. By the end of the evaluation phase, you and Dr. Zarkar will discuss next steps. Treatment will likely involve therapy, medications, or some combination of both.
Follow Up Appointments
Follow up appointments for established patients will vary in length. Typically, follow-up for medication management will be 30 minutes long and individual therapy sessions will be 45 minutes long.
To ensure complete and thorough assessment during your treatment, Dr. Zarkar will routinely ask to speak with parents and/or guardians to gain a holistic understanding of a specific issue or concern.
